Well we have come to the end of a fairly busy year of showing which started on the 12th October 2008 on Boss's 6 month birthday at the Birmingham Gundog & Terrier open where he was placed 2nd in minor puppy.
Boss loves going to the shows and getting to snog as many people who will allow him to, even getting in some not so sneaky licks when the judge is least expecting it is the absolute norm for him. I have really enjoyed my first year as a completely novice exhibitor and I have to say that the majority (99%) of the Staffy show people have been extremely welcoming and supportive to me and other new comers. I think that the smiley Stafford temperament must rub off on all us owners lol.
Boss has done me so proud in getting qualified for Crufts in January only a few months and less than 10 shows into his career I was over the moon, it was worth setting off at wrong o'clock in the morning for that one! He then went on to get his first 1st in a breed class in August which then led to BOB and a Group2 in the same show. He saved a very special performance for the end of September when he was placed 1st in Junior, BOB, Group1 and to top it all RBiS at the Bedford & District C.S Open show. I would like to take this opportunity to once again thank all the judges who thought enough of Boss to place him.
All his results can be found on the results page, there area few show pictures on the Gallery page also.
I have met some very good people at the shows; you all know who you are, and thank you for the support, encouragement and advice that you have so readily given xx
I have to also mention Marion Bye from Top Dogs Ringcraft who has been teaching myself & Boss since July 08, your support and commitment has been very much appreciated. Sharon and Andy from New City Ringcraft, thank you also for helping Boss get back on track with some extra training for his boisterous stage he went through earlier this year.
I look forward to another year in the ring and to my very first trip to Crufts as an Exhibitor.
Boss you are a star, we are proud to be very, very biased to say that you will always be the most beautiful boy in the ring to us, wriggly butt and snogs included !

It has been an absolutely amazing weekend starting with the Hitchin & District Canine Society Diamond Jubilee Open Show at Woodgreen Animal shelter Godmanchester held on Saturday the 26th Sept 09. We entered Boss in Junior and Tyro which he was placed 3rd and 1st respectively. Many Thanks to the Judge Mr M Marshall (Marstaff) for our placings. The Staffordshire Bull Terrier Classes was sponsored by the East Anglian SBT Club. An excellent day with some very good friends new and old. The show was very well organised from what I could tell and was packed full of people and there dogs.
Sunday the 27th and we are off again to another local club show, Bedford and District Open, held at Low Farm Easton Maudit. This venue is only 30 mins from us so we go to shows there when clubs use it.
We entered Junior judged by Mr M Gullick (Marauder) who gave us 1st place and also Best of Breed, somewhat shocked I settled my self and stoped the hands from shaking in preperation for the group judging which was being judged by Mr Martin Philips. We are very pleased to say that Mr Philips thought enough of our Boss to place him Group 1. After a much need sit and ice cold drink of water (it was a beautifully hot day) we prepared to go into the Best in Show class. Boss was taking it all in his stride and thankfully if he had socks he would have shown them till they fell off. He done so well even though it had been a very long day/weekend he was still wagging his tail and smiling.
Judge Miss Caroline Odd (Trenarwyn) chose her Best in Show, a gorgeous Cavalier and then went to get the Reserve Best in Show rosette .... OMG she walked straight towards us and the huge smile on my face must have told the whole story in a second lol. Very close to tears (of Joy) we done our lap of honour and then got ready for some photos for the Societies website. Some of the photos from this show are also in the Show photos album in the 'Photo Gallery' page.
